The Sweetest First Wash For A Rescued Baby Elephant

Animals who are helped to change their lives develop a special appreciation for those who help them, but they also begin to participate in activities they have never done before, and when a rescued baby elephant stepped into a small tub filled with water for the first time, he was excited to discover what a sweet bath was all about.

Chaba was born in a cramped concrete enclosure on the grounds of an elephant-riding resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The boy’s mother was forced to attract tourists by doing daily acts such as riding a bicycle, painting pictures, and other skills.

Chaba’s destiny seemed going to be similar, but fortunately, rescuers from the Save Elephant Foundation group were able to intervene.

The foundation’s project manager, Ry Emmerson, told The Dodo:

“When our team learnt of Chaba’s and BunMa’s predicament, we went to the camp to see what we could do to aid them.”

When the rescuers arrived to the camp, they found the young elephant and its mother in a cement pen with no food. The mother was also attached to a short chain by one leg, and it was clear that both animals need medical treatment to restore their health.

The charity’s founder took it upon himself to negotiate the release of the elephant family, and they were ultimately rescued in August.

The elephants would be transported by truck to the Elephant Nature Park (ENP) wildlife sanctuary, according to rescuers. BunMa, on the other hand, was scared and afraid of being separated from her baby, therefore she refused to board the transport truck.

Ry had this to say:

“We decided that coming to our shelter would be safe for them. They arrived at ENP after a two-hour walk and were greeted with an elephant cake ».

Both animals were content in their new home, and Chaba prepared for his first bath after consuming the welcome cake.

Chaba’s answer surprised everyone because when he arrived near the tub full of water, he had a satisfied look on his face. The four-month-old elephant found one of his favourite activities and now likes jumping about in the water.

Ry continued, ”

Chaba is a water baby to the core! He enjoys playing about in the water before running back to Mom to comfort her. He now enjoys playing with his ball in the water as his mother eats wonderful fruits.

Chaba, on the other hand, is always clear that what he enjoys the most is playing with water and splashing in his small pool.

Both animals are living full lives in the wild, interacting with other animals, searching for food, and playing like they’ve never done before.
