Kitten With Twisted Limbs Finds Forever Home Despite Her Disabilities
When Kitten Rescue received three deformed kittens that had only been born hours earlier, they didn’t know if they’d make it through the night. Pretzel, Oliver Twist, and Curly Sue are three kittens who were born with twisted limbs and legs, making it difficult for them to walk around like other kittens. While Oliver Twist died on the first night and Curly Sue perished at the age of 14 weeks, Pretzel fought for her life.
When the lone survivor was living with her foster mother, Laura Hawthorne, her tenacious character began to shine through.
Despite losing her brothers and being diagnosed with a variety of physical issues including “a heart murmur,” “abnormal skeletal development,” “missing bones in her legs,” “abnormal pelvic development,” and “an underbite,” she never lost hope. Despite her bravery, Hawthorne believed the crippled cat would have to stay with her as a foster forever, until a video changed everything.
Hawthorne shared a video of Pretzel on the internet, which drew the attention of Michelle Harrison. Harrison wrote Hawthorne after viewing the video, saying that despite her initial reservations about adopting a special needs cat, she felt Pretzel was the ideal fit for her.
Pretzel moved in with Harrison when he was eight months old, and the two have never been happier. Harrison documented Pretzel’s trip on YouTube, revealing how loving and friendly the feline is. The touching video is shown below.
