Following A 6 Month Recovery A ‘Miracle’ Cat Survives Being Hit By A Bus And Finds A Loving Family

A cat that was hit by a bus and suffered “catastrophic” injuries has found a permanent home.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) announced on Wednesday that Trudie, a four-year-old stray cat who had been treated at the English animal welfare group for six months, had been adopted.

“We’re supurr delighted to say that Trudie, who meowgically escaped horrific injuries after being struck by a bus, has healed and found her purrfect home!” the RSPCA said on Facebook on Wednesday.

Trudie, who was named after the patron saint of cats, St Gertrude, was killed by a bus in March. She was afraid, witnesses told the RSPCA, and fled after suffering serious head injuries. Trudie was located down by animal center personnel after 16 days and brought in for treatment.

Trudie’s eye had to be removed owing to the accident’s damage, and her crushed jaw had to be put back together, according to a press statement. The lovely cat made such an astonishing recovery after six months that the RSPCA workers called it a “miracle.”

“It’s a miracle she survived such awful injuries, especially because she couldn’t feed because of them. She demonstrated that she was a true fighter “Mona Jorgensen, RSPCA Southridge assistant manager, stated in a statement. “For the first week after her surgery, she was fed through a tube, and when she arrived to our cattery, we gradually weaned her back onto regular food and assisted her in resuming walking.”

She went on to say, “Trudie was someone we all spent a lot of time with, and she had a particular place in our hearts. We realized we needed to find her the most ideal home after everything we’d gone through.”
After hearing Trudie’s story, residents Dennis Hooper and Shirley Carter adopted the tortoiseshell cat on Wednesday.

“My daughter and her fiance weren’t a good fit for Trudie since they already had a cat, but we felt we could provide her with a nice, calm home,” Hopper said in a statement.

Trudie is developing well and feeling comfortable in her new home, according to Hopper, after the cat was welcomed into their family.

He said in a statement, “She loves to spend time in the sunny conservatory; she has her own chair, two armchairs, and a couch to select from, so she travels about to nap in different areas!” “She enjoys watching the birds in the birdbath, and we have a nice big garden, so I’m sure she’ll like exploring outside whenever she’s ready.”

“We’re great animal lovers, especially cats,” Hopper added, “and I knew I’d pick an animal who had gone through the worst so I could show them a nice existence.”
