In Dubai A Group Of Strangers Saves A Pregnant Cat From Falling And Receives A Reward

A group of strangers banded together in Dubai to help a pregnant cat that had fallen from a second-story balcony. The gang moved quickly, saving the day by utilizing a bedsheet as a safety net.

Mohammed Rashid, one of the men, recorded the terrifying scene on camera, which went viral. The men had never met before and come from a variety of backgrounds.

The men lifted the bedsheet high while the cat dangled from the balcony. Just in case, another man held out an empty box. The pregnant cat, fortunately, slid neatly into the leopard-spotted sheet. Then she is shown accepting pets from the males and seemingly acting as if nothing had occurred.

“We all sort of just came together to save the cat,” Atif said.

The cat may be seen eating and seemed to be well in a video (see below). We recently posted a viral video from Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, in which a cat plummeted 60 feet. Thankfully, the fall was softened by quick-thinking football fans carrying an American flag. The stadium exploded in cheers not heard in years in response.

The viral cat video was published on Twitter by HH Sheikh Mohammed, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

“I’m proud and delighted to see such acts of compassion in our lovely city. Please help us honor these unsung heroes, whomever you are,” he tweeted.

After the men were located, they received cash prizes from the Dubai Ruler. They received Dh50,000 each “for their quick thinking that saved the cat’s life,” reported the Khaleej Times. In US dollars, 50,000 Dirham currently converts to about $13,612.

See what happened in the video from the Khaleej Times:

It’s wonderful to see the cat rescued and the men praised for their bravery. However, in recent years, animal rights advocates have criticized Dubai for its large number of stray cats. Thousands of people have signed petitions in response to the inhumane treatment of thousands of stray cats and dogs.

Reuters reports that:

“Dubai has a huge population of stray cats, with many of their owners abandoning them on the streets. Although UAE authorities made it illegal to leave animals in 2018, animal welfare advocates in Dubai have long advocated for a large-scale trap-neuter-release program as well as feeding programs to reduce animal populations humanely.”

A Dubai municipality increased penalties for anyone who feed stray cats in August. Feeding stray cats, according to the legislation, “increases the spread of illnesses.”

The Ailuromania Cat Cafe, which launched in 2015 as an adoption center to aid homeless cats, is a bright light for cats in Dubai. The word ailuraomania is a pun on the word ailurophile, which refers to cat lovers. You can have a cup of “Catuccino” there.

“If you’re anxious, all you have to do is locate a cat.” “All your worries will go,” Omnia Fareed, whose sisters founded the café, said.

The café recently reopened after being closed due to the coronavirus.
