Every Day A Strange Cat Appears At A Woman’s House To Watch Bird Videos

Ruth Hulett opened her door to walk outside one day, and a stray cat interpreted it as an invitation and entered her home.

He appeared extremely convinced that he belonged there, even though she had no idea who he was or where he’d come from.

Hulett decided to attempt to find an activity they could do together instead of letting the cat walk about his house seeking for trouble.

“He was a bull in a china shop,” Hulett told The Dodo, “knocking over my coffee and a lamp.” “I figured I’d try distracting him with cat videos, and it worked!”

Hulett used her laptop to play cat movies, and the cat was immediately enthralled. He was having so much fun that he decided to return the next day to view more films — and every day after that.

Now, Hulett’s cat friend shows up every day in the early afternoon to spend some time watching videos with his new friend.

The pair have had such a great time bonding and getting to know each other, and Hulett loves learning more about her new friend each time he stops by, especially his taste in cat videos.

“He’s picky,” Hulett said. “He does not like rat videos, but he loves mice. The bird ones are his favorites. If I stop the video, he bats me with his soft little paws.”

Hulett assumed the cat belonged to a family that had recently moved into the area when he began showing up at her house. She wondered whether they knew where he went every day and couldn’t help but chuckle at the prospect of them discovering what he was up to.

“His owners believe he’s out patrolling the neighborhood, channeling his inner mountain lion,” Hulett posted on Facebook. “Instead, he’s hanging out with me on Netflix, watching cat shows.”

Hulett just learned that the cat’s real name is Rex, and that he does have a family. Unfortunately, Hulett will be leaving shortly, but before she does, she wants to make sure she contacts Rex’s family to inform them about his secret existence.

Rex and Hulett will miss their regular routine together, but chances are Rex will befriend and entertain another neighbor — and maybe, just maybe, they’ll love watching cat videos together as well.
